routing work back into an activity

Postby sarahbmartin3 » Sat Feb 18, 2017 4:08 pm

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out with this? I'm trying to simulate a car refurbishment facility. I need the work piece to start off in a car park and then go through various processing activities and go into the same car park once refurbished. I can't figure out how to do it given the routing options. Does anyone know how to do this?
Also I'm using the student version.
Thanks in advance

You can do this using labels. Depending on how your work items are generated (are you using multiple start points for each car park?) you will stamp each work item with its origin. For example, you may have three car parks, and therefore your label (ie, lblCarPark) will give a work item the value of 1, 2, or 3.

Then, at the last step of your process, use Label Routing or By Type routing to ensure that the work items return to the intended location, based on their lblCarPark value.

It's only one carpark which is used twice during the simulation, so once when the customer drops off the car for refurbishment and another once the car is refurbished and ready for collection - can you tell me how I would simulate this using labels?
